Article 76 of the Gambling Act (BGS) requires the operator of a casino to specify in a social concept the measures the casino takes to prevent the socially damaging effects of gambling and to protect players. According to this Article and the corresponding implementing legislation (Art. 48 of the Gambling and Casinos Ordinance), the casino’s social concept must define specific measures:
The social concepts of the Swiss Casinos Group are based on the results of extensive evaluations and investigations conducted by its Social Advisory Committee and on the knowledge gained from practical experience over the past 20 years.
The Social Advisory Committee provides advice and support for the implementation of the social concepts and, together with the Federal Gaming Board, monitors compliance. The processes and outcomes of social protection are subject to regular internal and external audits and are continuously optimized.
